Super Strain Koh Samui (SSKS) traces back to the island of Koh Samui in Thailand, where the original Koh Samui strain was first collected. This “super strain” version was stabilized from especially vigorous specimens, giving it a reputation for fast, assertive growth and thick, resilient fruits. The mushrooms themselves are compact but muscular, with caps that open wide into a deep golden brown, often carrying a darker center that fades toward lighter edges. The stems are stout and pale, built more like pillars than threads, giving the whole fruit a solid, weighty look.
